Top 3 of the week

Hey folks! I'm pushing myself to update the blog more often, and once a week should be a good start.

This week I've been doing a lot of figure sketching, keeping up with the goal I set out in my last blog post, been at it pretty much everyday, and It shows very much when I do a figure sketch with no reference. Before I did these the balance and proportions of the figures were way of, but now they are more realistic, so this I will keep doing hopefully for the rest of the year.

I'm also planing some art supply purchases till I get some money back from tax. I will know more which kind of money I have to spend at the end of next week, and hopefully I'll have enough to purchase the things I need. This will go twards color, markers, gouche and some canvases for oilpaintning projects.

The daily sketches I've done the last week has been concentrating on shapes and faces, will try to get some figure drawing in there soon, but I still need some more practice with the figure sketching. Here are my top 3 dailies from last week.

This face has a snakelike feel to it, it's fat and happy like it's just had a treat! Been using circular eyes as a red thread in my latest portraits

It's great to give the portrait some weird treats when your imagination is lacking, after the initial design you just go with it to find an interesting character.

Due to the intense work with shapes on the figure sketching side of life, this one got a bit inspired by that where I extracted the forhead shape and made it come out more with a sharp outline.

I also have some updates on my social sharing, previously I've been sharing to facebook, tumbler, pinterest, twitter, google+, deviantart and instagram. After a couple of months of this I've found it bothersome to keep every place updated as it puts a lot of administrative work on my shoulders, having a dayjob and puting a lot of time into actually creating art I feel that I have to prioritize the networks that are easiest to share to. These will be tumbler, pinterest, instagram, deviantart and facebook. So if you've been following my feeds on other networks, please check out one of the active ones for daily updates!

I've also reaquainted myself with an network that I've been active with to and fro since the dawn of time, namely Conceptart.org! You can check out my sketchbook by following this link

That's all the news from this time, have a good one!
