Been a while since I last posted a blog post, but I've had a hard time finding peace of mind for such activities, but now I have a pretty chill afternoon on my hands, so it's time to break the pattern and get some updates out in the open.
In my last post I presented you with my Consulting page here on the site, and since then I've also added a CV, not into the public though, as I don't know what I want to do with it yet, but more to get it started, to have it there in case I need it in the future. So see it as a work in progress for now
I've had a change of hearts when it comes to my economical perils, I will continue to concentrate on my art for now, I hope to get some money back from taxes this year, and I will use these extra funds to futher my plans in the art department. What I need is to purchase some more canvases so that I can produce additional oil paintings for exhibitions later this year, and if the funds are sufficient I will try my luck att selling prints, these will probably be postcard sized or in A5 format, but more about that when I have the money.
I've recently started working more and more with figure drawing, and gesture drawing. This is a skill that I lack, so I will try to put aside as much time as possible to train on this, I can't promice anything, but I'll try to sit down at least 3-5 times each week and draw a set of 20-50 gesture drawings. It's to early to show anything off but when I get better I might pick out a list of the most successfull ones during the week, maybe this will make it easier for me to update my blog more often. Anyways, let's do a retrospection since last blog post!
This drawing stared one of my miniseries of drawings that I want to explore more, one more in the series will be in this top 5, I've drawn figures with birdheads for a long time, and I won't stop here, that's a certain!
Happiness indeed. this piece was an experiment that I felt panned out pretty well, was a treat to stretch that face out to an almost 2d surface.
This one really hooked on to me, I think it's one of my absolute favorite figure studies, one the rocketed me into doing more figure studies. I also feel that this marks a real progress when you look at the first daily sketches of this year.
Similar to the sketch above, this one I used for last months sketch competition over at sketchteatre and it landed me a 3:rd place, thus winning me no less than 5 DVD's from The Gnomon Workshop! Yay WIN! :D
I've been working a lot with my portraits as of late, I think this piece represents progress on this part. I need to put down a lot more work to get things right, but I'm getting there at least!
I've seen the daily sketches somewhat as a microblogging platform, this can be one of the culprits for me not posting more real blog posts, but if you really want to fallow my artsy life from day to day, this is the place to be! I try to post to a lot of different social networks, so just follow me on one of these and you'll get daily updates on my journey into the lands of the surreal.
That's all for now! Cheerz!
